Steak fry to be held at Eagles in Beverly

The Beverly Eagles will hold a steak fry at 5:30 p.m. March 9. The cost is $10. For carry out, call 984-4733. The club will also be celebrating 25 years of membership for Laurence Miller, who is dealing with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Cake, coffee, and punch will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Music by Pickin On Country will be after the steak fry.

Square dance at Our Lady of Mercy

A square dance and potluck will be held March 9 in the Our Lady Of Mercy social hall in Lowell. The potluck will be at 6:30 p.m., and the dance will be from 8 to 11 p.m.. Steve and Beverly Pottmeyer will be the callers. The event is being sponsored by the Washington County Farm Bureau.

Warren band and choirs to perform

The Warren High School Music Department concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Warren High School auditorium. The band and choirs will perform.

Thirty-One bingo to benefit Waterford

The Waterford Elementary PTO will sponsor Bingo featuring Thirty-One bags filled with theme items from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Waterford Elementary School cafeteria. Doors open at 1 p.m. Advance tickets are 20 games for $20. The price at the door is 20 games for $25. There will be raffles and concessions including desserts and drinks.

Gettysburg will be topic of discussion

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will present an open panel discussion on the Battle of Gettysburg at 7 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Post, Eighth and Wooster streets, Marietta. They will be focusing on the 73rd OVI, 1st Ohio Battery H, 1st WV Battery C and other Ohio units involved in the battle. Dan Hinton and Scott Britton will lead the discussion. The discussion is open to the public.

Newport alumni pancake breakfast

The alumni class reunion for classes 1969 to 1985 will have a pancake breakfast at Newport Elementary School from 8 a.m. to noon March 9. The cost for the breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children 5 and younger.

Dickens in Ohio program planned

The Friends of the Museums spring program, “Dickens in Ohio” with Roger Jerome will be held at 2 p.m. March 10 at the Campus Martius Museum. Admission is free.
