Beverly man pulling logs from river gets pinned underneath
A Beverly man was not seriously injured after his leg became pinned under logs in the Lowell area Saturday afternoon.
Brad A. Zimmer, 36, of 320 Fourth St., Beverly, was retrieving logs from the Muskingum River near 12400 State Route 60 when the accident occurred around 3:42 p.m. Saturday, according to Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks.
“His leg became pinned under two logs, and they used a crane to move the logs, but the ground was apparently so soft that he was not significantly hurt,” Mincks said. “He was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital.”
The sheriff said he did not know why Zimmer was pulling the logs out of the river.
Lowell-Adams Volunteer Fire Department responded to the mishap.
