Findings not reported on autopsy; officials releasing few details

The autopsy has been completed on a Marietta man whose death is being investigated as a possible homicide after he was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a Groves Avenue mobile home.

An autopsy on 68-year-old Frank B. Stephens was performed in Montgomery County earlier this week and results have been sent to Washington County, said an official with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

However, Washington County Coroner Dr. Ken Leopold said he has yet to receive the findings. The findings will be handled by the Marietta Police Department, he said.

Officials with the Marietta Police Department could not be reached for comment Friday.

Police have been tight lipped about the investigation and have yet to charge anyone in relation to any possible crime.

A resident of the 139 Groves Ave. home where the body was found, 28-year-old Ira “David” Blair, was arrested Tuesday for burglary in a Third Street building.

However, police have not said whether or not they believe Blair was involved in Stephen’s death.
