Fishing derby is planned for May 19
The Washington County Fish and Game Club will hold its annual fishing derby May 19 at 2100 Duck Creek Road, Whipple. The event is free and open to the public. All children ages 1 to 17 are welcome. Prizes will be awarded. There will be raffles, a country store, 50/50 drawings and concessions.

Movie for children at Marietta Library
Children ages 5 and up are invited to watch “A Monster in Paris” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Marietta Library meeting room. To register, stop by the Youth Services Department or call 373-1057, Ext. 219.
Watertown trustees plan public meeting
The Watertown Township Trustees will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the firehouse to discuss a levy to cover contracted Emergency Medical Services for Watertown Township. All township residents are encouraged to attend.
Steak fry at Beverly Eagles Saturday
The Beverly Eagles will hold a steak fry at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $10. For carry-out, call 984-4733.
Bird walk is planned at wetlands
A Marietta City Bird Walk, sponsored by the Marietta Natural History Society, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The leader will be Brad Bond. Participants should meet in the Acme Street parking lot of the Kroger wetlands. They should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Binoculars would be useful, but are not necessary.
Meeting at county auditor’s is public
The Washington County Board of Revision will meet in regular session at 9 a.m. Monday in the county auditor’s conference room on the second floor of the Washington County Courthouse, 205 Putnam St., Marietta. The purpose of this public meeting is to consider any and all matters that come before the board.
Salem-Liberty alumni banquet
The Salem-Liberty Alumni Banquet will be held May 25 at Salem-Liberty Elementary School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6 p.m. The cost is $12.50 per person. Send checks in advance, made out to SLHS Alumni, to Patty Ullman, 26300 Goulds Run, Lower Salem, Ohio, 45745.
