Republican women will meet May 13

The Washington County Republican Women’s Club will hold its monthly luncheon/meeting Monday May 13th, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Marietta from noon to 1pm. Special speaker is Mark Schwendeman, who will discuss the tax impacts of Obamacare. All interested women and men are welcome to attend. For information, call: Karen Morris 374-5812.

Plant exchange at Barlow Library

The Barlow Library with the Barlow Bluebells Garden Club will be hosting a plant exchange at 1 p.m., May 19, at the Barlow Library on Ohio 339. Bring labeled plants to exchange with fellow gardeners. Used clay and ceramic containers may also be shared. Come early to set up plants as the exchange starts promptly at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. For questions: (740) 678-0103.

Stanleyville school reunion is planned

The Stanleyville Elementary School reunion will be Saturday, May 11, at the Stanleyville Community Center on Washington County 42. A potluck dinner will be held at noon. Bring a covered dish, table service and a craft item for a raffle drawing. All former students, families and friends are invited to the 19th annual reunion. There will be food and door prizes.

Mother’s Day dinner will be held May 12

A Mother’s Day dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Ohio 145, Harriettsville. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. The menu consists of chicken and ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, homemade noodles, cole slaw, rolls, dessert, drink, and coffee. Take-out will be available in serving line.

Craft bazaar at church in Barlow

A spring craft bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Barlow Presbyterian Church in Barlow. There will be cake walks, a cake auction, bake sale, crafts, plants, jewelry, food and more. There will also be used books for sale.
