‘River Critters’ wildlife program

The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge will be holding the “River Critters” wildlife program for children at 1 p.m. June 26 at the visitor center located at 3982 Waverly Road in Williamstown. Children ages 4-15 will explore the different species of mussels, fish and turtles that live in the Ohio River. The program is free and approximately 1 to 2 hours long. This is a family activity and parents or guardians are required to be present. The program takes place outdoors and closed toe shoes are recommended, but in the event of bad weather alternative indoor activities will be provided.

Women’s event at Hervida 4-H camp

Washington-Morgan Counties Women’s Camp invites all women 18 and older regardless of residence to the 2013 Women’s Camp at the Hervida 4-H Camp in Waterford. The camp will held from 4 p.m. July 12 to 1 p.m. July 14.

Sewer repairs will continue on Phillips

Due to weather conditions, the Marietta Wastewater Department will be continuing repairs to the sanitary sewer in the area of the 900 block of Phillips Street, through the week of June 17. The 900 block of Phillips Street will be closed to parking and traffic between Wells and Ingleside streets to allow for equipment and material access.

Frontier FFA selling strawberry plants

Frontier FFA is taking orders for Chandler Strawberry plants to be planted in the late summer and be harvested next spring. Plugs will be $0.27/per plant and must be ordered by July 1. Orders may be placed by calling 865-3441, Ext. 2163.

Family & Children First Council to meet

The Washington County Family & Children First Council will have its next meeting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Family & Children First office, 202 Davis Ave.
