Suspect arrested, items recovered from food pantry theft
One suspect is in custody and food and other items reported stolen from the Gospel Mission food pantry and other areas of the Harmar Community Center have been recovered, Marietta Police said.
Nearly all of the food at the 309 Lancaster St. pantry was taken overnight Wednesday. An investigation led city police to an apartment at 328 1/2 Gilman Ave. Friday, just a few blocks from the pantry. A male and a female were in the apartment and the man, whose name was not immediately available, was taken into custody, said police Capt. Jeff Waite, whose wife, Candy, operates the pantry.
More information will be available in the weekend edition of The Marietta Times.
