Beverly man dies after collision

A Beverly man died Saturday night after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Ohio 146 and Tunis Road near Zanesville.

Kyle Bankes, 22, was riding a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle around 6 p.m. and improperly attempted to pass a 1997 Ford F-350 truck driven by a Joshua Wilkins who was turning left from State Route 146 onto Tunis Road, according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Zanesville post.

The report stated that Bankes struck the left side of the pickup and was ejected from the motorcycle. Bankes was transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, where he died from his injuries.

Wilkins, whose age and address weren’t available, was not injured.

The crash remained under investigation Sunday night.
