Bluegrass Frolic at Ohio River Museum
The Bluegrass Frolic will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ohio River Museum in Marietta. Musicians from several bands will join together to form a jam band for the performance. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome at the free event.

Program on bullying presented by church
First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Wooster streets, Marietta, will offer a two-part program about bullying. Excerpts of the documentary “Bully” will be shown in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. At 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 there will be a panel discussion with educators and counselors discussing what bullying actually is, how much of a problem it is locally, and what is being done/can be done to help students deal with bullying. All are welcome to come.

MOVP youth auditions for ‘The Hobbit’
The Mid-Ohio Valley Players Theatre will hold auditions for the 2013 Youth Theatre Production of “The Hobbit” from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 29, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the theater, 229 Putnam St. in Marietta. Youth Theatre is open to all area youth in grades six through 12. Rehearsals will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and set building will be on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Production dates are Dec. 12, 13 and 14.
Goodwill truck will pick up donations
The Marietta Goodwill truck will be in different area communities accepting gently used or new clothing, furniture and household items. For dates and times the truck will be in your area, call the Marietta store at 373-1304 between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday or noon to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Wild Game Cook-Off is planned at fair
