Marietta man stabbed outside apartment complex

From staff reports

Marietta Police are investigating a stabbing near the entrance of the Ridgewood Court apartments behind Tractor Supply.

A male, whose name has not been released by police, was walking up Ridgewood Drive out of the complex when a gray car stopped nearby, Police Capt. Jeff Waite said.

“A slender, tall, dark-haired male jumped out, came over to him and stabbed him in the lower (left) quadrant,” Waite said, indicating the stomach area.

The suspect then left the area.

Some people soon discovered the victim and called police.

Waite said the man was still conscious when police arrived. He was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
