Ohio 7 open after truck-train collision
Both lanes of State Route 7 at Moore’s Junction near the intersection of Hanna Road reopened a little over two hours after a train hit a tractor trailer Wednesday morning. The incident occurred as a truck was leaving Marietta Industrial Enterprises.
First responders including the Warren Volunteer Fire Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marietta City Fire Department responded to the scene. The Marietta Fire Department Hazardous Materials Response Team and the Ohio EPA was called in to deal with possible propane and diesel fuel leaks. Officials on the scene said the propane tanks were against a building and are not a danger.
The driver of the truck was taken by Warren squad to Marietta Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the train was not injured. For more information, see Thursday’s edition of The Marietta Times.
