Trash pickup delay for holiday

Rumpke trash service will not take place on Wednesday, New Year’s Day, and collection will be delayed one day for the rest of the week. Customers with service on Monday and Tuesday will not be affected. The normal collection schedule will resume Jan. 6.

Barlow trustees to hold special meeting

The Barlow Township Trustees will hold a special meeting in the Township Hall at 567 Warrior Drive, Vincent, at 9 a.m. Monday. The purpose of the meeting is to pay final bills and take care of any business needed to close out 2013.

Frontier BOE will meet on Friday

The Frontier Board of Education organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Frontier High School Library.

The regular January meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in the library.

Commissioners plan special session

The Washington County Board of Commissioners will meet in special session at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Assembly Room at 223 Putnam St., Marietta. The purpose of this public meeting is to consider the annual appropriations and resolutions for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2014 and ending Dec. 31, 2014 for Washington County and Washington County Family & Children First Council.

Lawrence trustees meeting Monday

The Lawrence Township Trustees will hold their 2013 year-end meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department. The 2014 organizational meeting will follow immediately afterward.

Free meal, clothing giveaway to be held

A Good Samaritan free meal and clothing giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 18 and Feb. 15 at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 Seventh St., Marietta.

Legion Post hosting New Year’s party

American Legion Post 641 in Belle Valley will hold a New Year’s Eve party from 8 a.m. to midnight Tuesday. The band Country Fever will perform. There will be free food, party favors and 50/50 drawings. The cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple.
