Belpre BOE holds special meeting

The Belpre City Board of Education will hold a special board meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Stone Administration Building/Early Learning Center. The purpose of the meeting is to approve a resolution to declare the intent to proceed with the election of the renewal of the current emergency levy.

Harmar Hill crime watch meeting

The Harmar Hill Neighborhood Crime Watch group is holding its February meeting at the Lookout Park Community Building at 7 p.m. Feb. 3. Anyone who lives on Harmar Hill is welcome to come. The guest speaker this month is Kelly McGilton, Washington County dog warden.

Chocolate on the Levee has new venue

The 26th annual Chocolate on the Levee will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Betsey Mills Club, Fourth and Putnam streets in Marietta. Tickets will be available at the door. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under and $25 for a family of four or more. For information or to donate a chocolate dessert, call EVE at 374-5820.

Gardening classes held at UU Church

The third in the Marietta Community Gardening Classes series at the First Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Marietta in Bloom volunteers will talk about the new organization, its work this fall and plans for the spring. All gardeners or potential gardeners are welcome.

Trillium Piano Trio at The Castle

The Winter Salon Series Trillium Piano Trio Concert “Gypsy Journey” will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at The Castle in Marietta. For reservations call 373-4180. Individual tickets for one concert are $15 for adults, $12.50 for members, and $10 for students. Conversations about the composers and their music as well as refreshments are included.

Dance to help with vet’s final expenses

A winter dance benefit will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Sunday at the VFW Post 5108 on Pike Street in Marietta. The cost is $7 per person or $12 per couple, with children 5 and under free. All proceeds will go towards end of life costs for Vietnam veteran Charles Worsham. There will be dancing, food and a silent auction with photos available. Donations are being accepted for the auction.
