Musical will be performed at MHS

“Legally Blonde: The Musical!” will be presented at Marietta High School at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1 and 2 p.m. March 2. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $12 and $15 for reserved seats. Tickets go on sale Monday and will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday in the MHS auditorium lobby.

Finance committee meeting is planned

The Washington County Finance Committee will conduct its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Assembly Room at 223 Putnam St. in Marietta. The purpose of the meeting is to review the financial activity of the county through Jan. 31, and the financial condition of the county.

Presentation on Wetland creatures

Presenter Brad Bond will speak about the many insects that live at the Kroger Wetland in Marietta. at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 3982 Waverly Road, Williamstown. Topics include life cycles, diets, mimicry and time of sightings. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ohio River Islands NWR.

Cutler Community Center talk planned

Retired Washington County educator Hugh Coffman will give a presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road. Topics will include correspondence between Pug Gould of Bartlett (who taught music to individual students in Washington County) and Coffman’s sister (one of his students) over the years plus information related to the history of Warren Local school district. Food will be available at the community center snack bar.
