Auditions will be held for MOVP show

The Mid-Ohio Valley Players will hold auditions for “God of Carnage,” a black comedy, at 5 p.m. Feb. 16 and 7 p.m. Feb. 18 and 19. The auditions will be held in the MOVP annex, 227 Putnam St. Needed are two men and two women who play the age range of 35 to 45.

Gunmakers & artist show at museum

The annual Contemporary Gunmakers and Allied Artists Show will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Campus Martius Museum in Marietta. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Admission is free to members of Friends of the Museums and to children under 5 years. During the show, Campus Martius will be hosting a variety of traditional artisans who recreate the working tools of the frontier settler and hunter.

Commissiners will meet on CDBG

The Washington County Commissioners will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Assembly Room at 223 Putnam St. in Marietta. The purpose of the public meeting is to consider the Fiscal Year 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and explain the application process. Representatives of organizations intending to apply for participation in the program are encouraged to attend.

Emergency planning meeting Wednesday

The Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington County Emergency Operations Center, 204 Davis Ave., Suite C, Marietta. The meeting is open to the public.

Marietta trustees will discuss stop sign

The Marietta Township Trustees will hold their regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Marietta Township Recreation Center. A discussion will be held on the placement of a stop sign on Browns Road at the intersection of Browns Road and Forshey Road.

FFA?chapter holding square dance

The Marietta FFA is holding a square dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Junior Fair Building. The cost is $5 per person or $8 per couple. Concessions will be available. The band playing will be the Buckeye Travelers.
