Power outages scheduled Wed.

Washington Electric Cooperative has scheduled two brief outages affecting approximately 55 members in eastern Washington County Wednesday. The first outage will occur at 9 a.m. and last about 30 minutes while crews repair damaged wire. This will affect about 25 members along Township Roads 460, 609 and 518 as well as County Road 11 and Whipple Run Road.The second outage will occur at noon and last approximately one hour, affecting about 30 members along Shay Ridge and Township Roads 35 and 921 while crews replace a damaged crossarm.

Elections Board special meeting

The Washington County Board of Elections will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday to review and pay bills, reorganize the board, allocate voting machines, review ballot order numbers, consider the director’s request for time off, discuss the delivery process for the May 6 primary election as well as poll workers and the Youth at the Booth program.

4-H dinner, auction is planned March 22

The 2014 Washington County 4-H Endowment Dinner and Auction will be held March 22 at the Washington County Junior Fair Building. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the country store and silent auction. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with the live auction starting at 8 p.m. Dinner includes a choice of grilled NY strip steak or grilled chicken breast with salad, green beans, baked potato, roll, dessert and beverages. Tickets in advance are $20 for adults and $10 for youth 19 and under. Tickets at the door are $25 for adults and $15 for youth 19 and under. Next Relay For Life meeting at Legion

The next Washington County Relay For Life meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. March 10 at the American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster street, Marietta.
