Swim lessons at the Betsey Mills Club will begin April 19. Infant lessons will be given from 8:30 to 9 a.m., Level 1 from 9 to 10 a.m. and Level 2 from 10 to 11 a.m. The instructor is Tiffany Seiler, Red Cross certified water safety instructor. To reserve a spot, call 373-4981.

Meeting to discuss County Home

The Board of Commissioners of Washington County will conduct its regular monthly meeting at the Washington County Home on County House Lane in Marietta at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The purpose of this meeting is to consider any and all business pertaining to operations of the County Home.

Putnam Street closure Tuesday

The 300 block of Putnam Street between the alley and the intersection with Third Street will be closed beginning about 8 a.m. Tuesday and is scheduled to re-open later in the day. The closure is to allow crews to install a new fiber optic cable underneath Putnam Street. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians.

Relay For Life meeting planned

The next Washington County Relay For Life meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. April 14 at the American Legion Post 64, on Eighth and Wooster streets.

Student art show at Second St. gallery

The “Mid-Ohio Valley High School Student Art Show” will be from 6 to 9 p.m. April 18 at Riverside Artists Gallery, 219 Second St. Marietta. Ten Washington and Wood County high schools have been invited to participate in the show. Art work will be juried by professional artists and awards presented for first, second, third place and honorable mention in 2D and 3D work. The awards ceremony will be at 7 p.m. The student art work will hang in the gallery for two weeks.

Zumba classes being offered

Zumba/Zumba Toning at The Betsey Mills Club with instructors Shauna Cornwell and Antonia Swisher will begin with a session at 5:30 p.m. April 15. Space is limited. Call 373-4981 to reserve a spot.
