Trash collection takes a holiday

Rumpke waste removal and recycling collection service will not take place on Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday. Service will be delayed one day during the week of the holiday. Regular collection will resume the week of June 2.

Spaghetti dinner at Beverly Eagles

The Beverly Eagles will hold a baked spaghetti dinner at 5:30 p.m. May 30. The cost is $7 and includes dessert. For carryout, call 984-4733.

Benefit to help with medical expenses

A breast cancer benefit for Stephanie Kesselring will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. June 21 at the VFW, 319 Pike St., Marietta. All money raised will go toward medical bills and expenses. There will be food, entertainment, a silent auction and a 50/50.

Dinner to raise funds for church youth

Gilman United Methodist Church will have a baked spaghetti dinner on June 1 after worship. It will be served by the youth to raise money for their summer mission trip. The menu includes baked spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, dessert and beverage. A free will offering will be taken.

Fort Frye BOE will meet Wednesday

There will be a special meeting of the Fort Frye Local school district board of education at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Beverly-Center Elementary, 510 5th St. Beverly. The purpose of the meeting is to vote on accepting the bid for the Lowell roof project. The board will also be voting on rejecting all bus bids publicly opened Thursday and to participate in the MEC and UPCORV cooperative to receive bus bids.

Fundraiser for various charities

Adventure Quest Inflatables will hold a fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Civitan Park in Belpre. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Veteran’s Museum of the Mid-Ohio Valley. The cost is $5 per person. There will be vendors, craft vendors and entertainment. There will also be a car show on Monday.

Sports physicals at helath department

Sports physicals by appointment only will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. June 11 at the Washington County Health Department. The cost is $15 per student. To make an appointment, call 374-2782, Ext. 1021.
