Hydrant flushing throughout the city

The City of Marietta will start hydrant flushing at 8 a.m. Monday and continue through the week for these areas: all streets running north from Washington Street (Front to Tenth Street) and Eighth Street south to Wooster Street; Warren Street from Fourth to Tenth Street; Montgomery Street; St. Mary’s Avenue. Adjacent addresses outside and within the list will likely be affected. After flushing is completed residents are asked to flush their cold water lines until water is clear.

MHS?Class of ’68 dinner Monday

The Marietta High School Class of 1968 will have a dinner at 6 p.m. Monday at the Harmar Tavern. RSVP to Karen Rech Kidwiler at 525-1121.

Warren Twp. Fishing Derby is June 7

The 13th annual Warren Township Fishing Derby will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 7 at Inman Liberty Park behind the Warren Township building. Anglers of all ages are invited to participate. Registration will begin at 9 with the derby to begin at 10. Bait will be available to purchase. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone 16 or older must have a current Ohio fishing license. Food will be served by the Warren Township Fire Department Auxiliary. In case of thunderstorms, the event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. June 8.

Dog park meeting is open to the public

A public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jackson Hill Park Activity Shelter as a planning meeting for the Marietta Community Dog Park. There will also be a cookout. Those attending may bring a covered dish to share. Grilled hot dogs, condiments and bottled water will be provided.

One lane traffic starts Monday 7 p.m.

Utilities relocation will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the Seventh, Pike and Greene streets intersection in Marietta. One lane of traffic will be maintained. The work is expected to take two days to complete, weather permitting.
