Belpre alumni will hold social July 12
The Belpre High School Alumni Association will hold its annual ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 12 at Howe’s Grove Park and the Belpre Senior Center. There will be entertainment and food for purchase, including hot dogs, pie and ice cream. All proceeds go toward scholarships.
Free legal clinic is offered in Marietta
The Washington County Bar Association and Southeastern Ohio Legal Services will offer a free legal clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. July 16 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta. Walk-ins are welcome. The clinic is for Washington County residents unable to afford legal representation (less than 187 percent of the poverty guideline).

Model airplane show at Barlow Library
As part of the Summer Reading Program at the Barlow Library the Vienna Sky Sharks will join the library for a radio control model airplane exhibit and air show at 6 p.m. July 15. The event is free and open to all ages.

‘Life on the Refuge’ program for youth
The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge will hold a “Life on the Refuge” program for children ages 5-14 at 1 p.m. July 12. Learn where animals live, what they eat and how they survive. This program includes a hike, games and a craft. The program will be held at the Visitor Center located at 3982 Waverly Road in Williamstown. Closed toe shoes are strongly recommended. The program is free and approximately two hours long. This is a family activity and parents or guardians are required to be present. Immunization clinic open longer hours
The Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., will extend its hours for the immunization clinic until 6:30 p.m. Monday. No appointment is necessary. All adult and child immunizations are offered, including school immunizations required for entry into kindergarten and seventh grade. The Ohio Medical Card and most insurance is accepted, or there is a $10 fee per shot. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
