Fine Arts and Crafts Show this weekend
The 47th annual Howard Chandler Christy Art Guild Fine Arts and Crafts Show will be held Saturday and Sunday at 10th and Main streets in McConnelsville. Admission and parking are free. There will be music and food, artist demonstrations and an art auction at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Free meal offered at St. Luke’s church
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold its next free meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Aug. 5 at 320 Second St., Marietta. The meal will include pork, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dessert and a beverage.
Videos, group chat at Baptist church
The fourth session in the “Unlocking the Mysteries of Genesis” series of videos and group discussion will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at North Hills Baptist Church, 108 Stonecrest Drive, Marietta. “Buried Clues” will look at fossil records.

Auditions for ‘Night of the Living Dead’
The Mid-Ohio Valley Players Theatre will hold auditions for the classic horror show “The Night of the Living Dead” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the theater, 229 Putnam St., Marietta. Show dates are Oct. 3-4, 10, 11 and 12 and 17-18. There are five female roles, eight male roles, four androgynous roles and between 10-20 zombies needed.

Marietta Day celebration this weekend
The 58th Marietta Day celebration will be held Saturday and Sunday. There will be a skating party from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Marietta Roller Rink. Admission is $2, which includes skate rental. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. There will be free pizza but those attending should bring their own refreshments. On Sunday, there will a picnic starting at 11 a.m. at Masonic Park. The picnic is open to the public. Meat and water will be provided; covered dishes should be brought to share. There will be entertainment, karaoke, cornhole, raffles, games, a cake walk and more.
Lions Club cruise on Valley Gem
A Community Dinner Cruise sponsored by the Reno Lions Club will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 4 on board the Valley Gem. There will be music by Pickin’ on Country.
