Free concert at First Congregational
The community is invited to a free concert by Keith Geiman (trumpet) and Thom Britton (piano/organ) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 318 Front St., Marietta.
The concert opens with the majestic sounds of trumpet and organ and works by Charpentier, Telemann and others. The second half of the event lightens up the night with piano accompaniment and works by Bellstedt, Gershwin, Mendez and more.

Rummage sale at St. Luke’s Episcopal
A rummage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot behind St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta. The sale will include small kitchen appliances, a Redwood deck set, children’s clothing, books and games.
5K and Fun Run planned for Sept. 13
The second annual Club Ohio United 5K and One-Mile Fun Run will be held Sept. 13 at Masonic Park in Devola. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with the fun run at 7:30 p.m. and the 5K at 8 p.m. The entry fee is $15 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run if postmarked by Monday. Gospel groups at Leavitt Funeral Home
Leavitt Funeral Home, 801 Victor St., Belpre, will hold its annual Gospel Sing from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 6. Musical groups performing will be The Williams Family, Heaven’s Rush, Redeemed and Mission Trio. There will also be an antique car and tractor display, free food and drinks and a tent provided for shade.

Picnic sponsored by Marietta Elks Club
Families can enjoy a picnic starting at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Marietta Elks Club. There will be live music from the Two Guys and A Gal Band. Food includes a 1/2 BBQ Chicken and all the corn you can eat. Included in the day’s activities are corn hole games and horseshoes. Tickets are available to the public for $10 per person and can be purchased at The Elk’s Club at 414 Colegate Drive and Flanders Insurance on Putnam Street. The event will raise funds for club projects.
