Ruble sentenced to 15 years to life in prison

A former Washington County Sheriff’s deputy that was found guilty of aggravated murder last month was sentenced to life in prison Thursday morning in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

Mitchell Ruble, 65, of Lowell, was handed the mandatory sentence of 15 years to life in prison by Common Pleas Judge Randall Burnworth. He was found guilty in March after a jury trial in the cold case murder of Washington County Sheriff’s Lt. Ray “Joe” Clark on Feb. 7, 1981.
