Washington County Men Cook! is Feb. 11

The Washington County Men Cook! event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Quality Inn in Marietta. It will be an opportunity to have a tasting of home-cooked dishes provided by more than 30 men from Washington County. All proceeds will benefit the United Way of Washington County’s 2-1-1 program.

MOVP organizational meeting is Saturday

There will be an organizational meeting at Mid Ohio Valley Players at 11 a.m. Saturday at the theater at 229 Putnam St. The purpose of the meeting is to brainstorm ideas for upcoming workshops that will be free and open to the public. Anyone with any particular theatrical skill set or the desire to teach a workshop is invited to give input. Information about the public workshops will be available at a later date.

Free HIV testing at health department

The Marietta City Health Department will provide free HIV testing from 11 a.m. to noon Jan. 18.  This testing is confidential and anonymous. The test is a mouth swab so it is important not to have anything in your mouth, such as food, drink, gum or a cigarette for at least 15 minutes before testing. The results will ready within 20 minutes and a counselor will explain what they mean.

Water, sewer district annual meeting

Tri-County Rural Water and Sewer District will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the office, 5772 Buchanan Road, Waterford. The regular monthly meeting will immediately follow.

Fearing Township trustees meet Friday

Fearing Township Trustees will next meet on Friday. The trustees will hold meetings on the second Monday of the month starting in February. The meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Fearing Township Office in the garage in Stanleyville.
