Constitution the topic of discussion at WSCC

The Washington State Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will host a Constitutional discussion to honor Constitution Day, from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday Graham Auditorium, located in the Arts & Sciences building. This is a free event, open to the public. Panelists will be former Judge Ed Lane, Professor Greg Mitchell, Jacob Wagner (PTK student) and Professor and PTK Advisor Brad Merritt. Discussions will be moderated by President Vicky Wood. Free pocket-sized Constitutions will be given to the first 100 people.

Bigfoot lecturers will share stories in Barlow

The Barlow Library will host a free program, “Ohio Night Stalkers,” at 1 p.m. Saturday. Join M. Feltner and M. Miller, Bigfoot researchers and lecturers, as they discuss their field research and photographic evidence. They will share stories, footprint casts and their thrilling audio tracks from the chilly night in October 2014 when they were followed in Adams County.

Basket bingo will benefit Special Olympics

Washington County Special Olympics will host Longaberger basket bingo on Saturday at the Marietta Knights of Columbus. Doors will open at 3 p.m. and the games begin at 5 p.m. All baskets are filled. The cost is 20 games for $20. There will also be a 50/50, country store, special game and refreshments.

Fire hydrant testing this month in Beverly

The Village of Beverly Volunteer Fire Department will be testing and flushing fire hydrants in Beverly and Waterford on Monday evenings during the month of October. If water becomes discolored, run water until it becomes clear.

Give-Away Day at

St. Luke’s Lutheran

The 16th annual Community Give-Away Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 401 Scammel St., Marietta. The congregation will be donating slightly used items to be given away for free to those in the community in need. Items include toys, household goods, clothes, books, shoes, etc. Everyone is welcome.

Beverly Lions Club will hold a fundraiser

A fundraiser for the Beverly Lions Club will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Waterford Township Community Building on Fourth Street in Beverly. There will be demonstrations featuring Clever Container products and food samples from Tastefully Simple. Food and drink will be available. Funds raised will go to support projects for eye care and diabetes.
