Turbine Technologies at WSCC today

From 1 to 7 p.m. today Turbine Technologies’ new mobile engineering and technology training center will be on the campus of Washington State Community College. Get hands-on experience, and see interactive demonstrations of new, state-of-the-art learning systems, including a fully instrumented jet engine, steam turbine power plan, process automation trainer, a programmable automation control systems device, and more.

The mobile unit will be parked in the Faculty/Staff parking area outside of the Engineering Wing. This is a free event and open to the public.

Blessing of the pets at Our Lady of Mercy

To commemorate the feast of St. Francis and Honor all of God’s creatures, Our Lady of Mercy Church will conduct a blessing of pets at 11 a.m. Oct. 21. The event will be held in the parking lot of the church at 5001 Lowell Hill Road, Lowell, with Father Tim Shannon officiating. There is no charge. All are welcome.

Williamstown Lions to hold dinner Oct. 22

The Williamstown Lions Club will host a dinner in Tomlinson Park in Williamstown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22. Served at the meal will be homemade chicken and noodles and chili with cornbread. Coffee, iced tea and water will also be served. The cost will be $7 per person, and take out containers are available.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help purchase wheelchair accessible playground equipment for Tomlinson Park, purchase eyeglasses and eye exams and other projects for the community.

Trunk or treat event will be held in Warren

The second annual Warren Elementary PTA/Little Hocking PTO Trunk or Treat Halloween Community Event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the parking lot between Warren Middle School and Warren High School. The event is free and concessions will be available for purchase. A DJ will be playing music and there will be games and activities set up (weather permitting).

FLEDA Commerce Dinner will be Nov. 3

FLEDA will hold its annual Commerce Dinner at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Frontier High School cafetorium. Information is available and reservations may be made by contacting the office of FLEDA president, Jack Haessly, at Haessly Lumber, 25 Sheets Run Road, Marietta, at 740-373-6681. Reservation deadline is Oct. 23.
