Pioneer Civitan Style Show & Supper Tues.

The Pioneer Ladies Civitan Style Show & Salad Supper will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday (doors open at 5 p.m.), at K of C Hall, 308 Gilman St. Admission is $15. There will be fashions by Peebles, CATO and Christopher Banks and a purse auction by Williams Auctioneers. Door prizes will be drawn all night and there will be a raffle.

Health screenings at city health department

On Tuesday, there will be free health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings, held at the Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fasting nine to 12 hours before the screening is recommended. No appointment is necessary. This clinic is funded by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Community Health Programs. Flu shots will also be available from the Marietta City Health Department from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance are accepted.

Lions Club dinner will be in Tomlinson Park

The Williamstown Lions Club will host a dinner in Tomlinson Park in Williamstown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Served at the meal will be homemade chicken and noodles and chili with cornbread. Coffee, iced tea and water will also be served. The cost will be $7 per person, and take out containers are available.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help purchase wheelchair accessible playground equipment for Tomlinson Park, purchase eyeglasses and eye exams and other projects for the community.

Antique appraisal fundraiser Oct. 28

An antique appraisal will be help from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 28 at Waterford Elementary School. There will be a donation of $5 for the first item and $3 for each additional item. This is sponsored by the Lower Muskingum Historical Society for improvements at the Oliver Tucker Museum in Beverly. Appraisers will be Larry Hall of Baker & Baker Jewelers, Randy Clark of Randy Clark Auctions, Barbara Dernberger and others.

Ohio Means Jobs Center open house

An open house for the Ohio Means Jobs Center at 115 Gilman Ave. (Washington County Jobs and Family Services Building) will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday. The event is open to employers, businesses, job seekers, and the general public.
