Energy efficiency workshop Tuesday

Members representing UpGrade Ohio and the Southeast Ohio Public Energy Council will discuss the latest opportunities available for Southeast Ohio communities and local businesses within the scope of energy efficiency, renewable energy and public and private alternative vehicle improvements and investments. The workshop, to be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Huntington Bank and hosted by Marietta Main Street, will include information about state-funded grants and financing for energy usage upgrades, a free renewable energy assistance program, community choice aggregation, mercantile customer pricing and demand response initiatives, energy performance contracts and more.

There will be light breakfast refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

Fort Frye school board meets Nov. 30

There will be a Fort Frye Local Board of Education Policy Committee meeting at 5 p.m. Nov. 30 at Lowell Elementary School, 305 Market St., Lowell.

There will be a Fort Frye Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at Lowell Elementary School.

The regular November meeting of the Fort Frye Local Local Board of Education has been changed to 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at Lowell Elementary School.

Public breakfast at Beverly Legion Post

The Beverly Post 389 of the American Legion is sponsoring a public breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the post home on Fifth Street. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. Proceeds benefit the communities American Flag displays in Beverly and Waterford.

O’Neill offering free program on falls

The O’Neill Center is offering “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls” on Thursdays, beginning on Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. Sessions will be held for six weeks. This is a free program. A workbook is provided and healthy snacks are served.

City’s annual leaf pick-up starts Monday

On Monday, the City Of Marietta Street Department will begin annual leaf pick-up. Leaf collection will start on Front Street. and move through Tenth Street. Crews will then collect on the side streets. The schedule is dependent on the weather. No Parking signs will be posted in advance of the leaf pick-up. Please do not park in the posted areas between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All curbs are considered a part of the storm drains that carry water to existing catch basins that carry water run off to the rivers. Keep all leaves between the curb and existing sidewalk until they are picked up.
