Submit photos for publication in paper

The Times will feature photos of area Christmas decorations on page two of the paper during the weeks leading up to Christmas. If you would like to nominate an outdoor display, please send an email describing it to Art Smith at The display should be clearly visible from a public area. You can also email photos for possible inclusion to the same address.

Marietta Children’s Choir will perform

The Marietta Children’s Choir will perform with the Marietta College Concert Choir, Women’s Choir and Floodstage at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, 506 Fourth St., Marietta, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The concert is free and open to the public.

Oak Grove Santa run will be on Sunday

Oak Grove Volunteer Fire and Rescue will hold its annual Santa run on Sunday afternoon. Children should listen for the fire truck siren to announce Santa’s arrival on their street.

Community meal at Barlow Presbyterian

A community meal will be held at Barlow Presbyterian Church from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The menu is chicken and noodles, mac and cheese, green beans, rolls, salad and desserts.

Donations accepted for Gospel Mission

Gospel Mission Food Pantry, 309 Lancaster St., is accepting donations for its Operation Backyard Christmas Shoebox from now through Dec. 15. On Dec. 23, Santa will arrive at the Gospel Mission and each child will receive a shoe box filled with goodies. Any and all children are invited to attend the event. The following are items we need to fill the shoe boxes: Crayons, coloring books, small toys, travel size games, small puzzles, play-doh, hats, scarfs, gloves, pencils, gum, candy, small stuffed animals, lip balm or any items that will fit inside a shoe box and will bring a smile to a child’s face.

Harmar Hill watch group will have party

The Harmar Hill Neighborhood Watch annual Christmas party will be held at 7 p.m. today at Lookout Park. There will be cookies, door prizes and light snacks. All Harmar Hill residents are invited to attend.
