Fort Frye board meeting changed

The date and time of the January regular meeting of the Fort Frye Local Schools Board of Education has been changed to 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Beverly-Center Elementary cafeteria.

Winter/Spring Story Hour registration now

Registration is now underway at the New Matamoras Library for the Winter/Spring Story Hour program. Story Hour is an interactive program designed for 2-through 5-year-olds and their parent/caregiver. The program features stories, crafts, creative play and music while encouraging interaction with other children. Programming will begin on Feb. 14 and will meet on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the library. Space is limited, registration is required.

Baked steak dinner at Post 64 Saturday

There will be a baked steak dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets, to benefit Relay for Life. Dinner includes baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll and desert. The cost is $8 a plate or two for $15. The dinner is open to the public.

Fish fry sponsored by the Beverly Eagles

Beverly Eagles will hold an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. The cost is $8. For carry-out, call 740-984-4733. There will be entertainment by S & G Karaoke, and also the second annual Celebration of the life of Billy Harvey that evening.

Canvas painting party at the O’Neill Center

The O’Neill Center will host a canvas painting party from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. With a step-by-step instruction method, customers without a stroke of painting experience are at ease. This month’s painting will be a snowman taking a leisurely break. The cost is $40, which includes all painting supplies and the finished masterpiece, refreshments, aprons and cleanup. This class is open to the public all adult ages are welcome. Please call early as space is limited and must be prepaid.

Beekeepers’ group will meet Tuesday

The next Mid Ohio Valley Beekeepers’ Association meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Washington County Career Center. The guest speaker will be Tennessee beekeeper Joel Hausser, who will present a program on small hive beetles. The meeting is open to the public.
