Marietta City Schools will have a special board meeting at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 at the board office to continue board orientation directives and any other matter that may arise.

The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Sept. 17 in the Community Room of the Main Building.

A planned power outage affecting about 50 Washington Electric Cooperative customers in the area of County Road 9 will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Affected areas include County Road 9 and County Road 138, from the intersection of County Road 138 and Township Road 100 to the intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 21 and surrounding areas. Power will be interrupted to safely allow repairs to be made on road slips.

The Washington Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a pond clinic at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 at Buckeye Park in Marietta. Steve Fender of Fender Fish Hatchery will be there to lead the clinic. This question and answer clinic will cover anything pond or lake related: fish stocking, vegetation and varmint control, aeration, pond construction. Bring questions for Fender. East Eighth Street between the back entrance to the Lafayette Shopping Center and the Jefferson Street intersection will be closed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 to allow crews to deliver parts for the Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade.

A community luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barlow Presbyterian Church. The menu will be chipped beef gravy, creamed chicken, biscuits, applesauce, salad and desserts. Barlow Presbyterian Church is located at Warrior Drive and Ohio 550 in Barlow.
