There will be free parking and a shuttle service to the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival this weekend. Those interested should park at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 922 Front St. The shuttle will drop off and pick up at Tiber Way on Butler Street between Front and Second streets every half hour. It will also stop at the Valley Gem parking lot under the Washington Street Bridge. The shuttle will run from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Community Forum: Raising the Tobacco Age from 18 to 21 will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the Washington County Health Department, 342 Muskingum Drive, and from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Washington County Public Library, 615 Fifth St. The forum is an opportunity to share opinions on the possible age increase.

The Ohio Lottery in conjunction with the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival will collect non-perishable food donations for the Gospel Mission Food Pantry from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Donations can be made at the booth located in the parking lot across from the Lafayette Hotel at 101 Front St. Every adult who donates two non-perishable food items will receive a free Ohio Lottery promotional ticket. Anyone who donates six or more food items will also receive an entry to win an $80 gift card.

The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State Community College in collaboration with the Washington State Foundation, the Schwendeman Agency, Inc., and the Marietta Community Foundation, announce the first performance of its 20th anniversary celebratory season, The Cashore Marionettes.

The performance will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in Graham Auditorium, located in the Arts & Sciences building on the campus of WSCC. Admission to the performance is free, but seating is limited.

The time for the special board meeting of the Warren Local Schools Board of Education has changed to 5 p.m. today. The board will conduct business related to the OFCC Building project first and then hold a work session related to the OFCC Building project starting at approximately 5:30 p.m.
