The Washington County Health Department has changed its meeting times effective with today’s meeting. The change is as follows:

Washington County Board of Health’s regularly scheduled meeting will be moved to 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. There will be an Informational Meeting of the Board of Health at noon on the Wednesday of the week following the regularly scheduled meeting.

The Washington Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a pond clinic at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buckeye Park in Marietta. Steve Fender of Fender Fish Hatchery will be there to lead the clinic. This question and answer clinic will cover anything pond or lake related: fish stocking, vegetation and varmint control, aeration, pond construction. Bring questions for Fender. Education Works, SEO, an education advocacy group, will hold a town hall meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the American Legion Hall located at Seventh and Wooster streets in Marietta. The meeting which is free and open to the public will feature candidates for the 95th Ohio House District Don Jones (R ) and Dan Milleson ( D). Both Jones and Milleson are from Harrison County. The 95th Ohio House District includes the Third Ward in Marietta , Devola, Reno and eastern Washington County as well as Carroll, Harrison, Noble and parts of Belmont counties.

The Col. Jesse Hildebrand historical marker dedication will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #67 Hall, 161 Front St., Marietta. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #67 in association with the Civil War Round Table of the Mid-Ohio Valley will recognize the Civil War service of Colonel Jess Hildebrand, 77th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, with the dedication of a historical marker in his honor. Hildebrand was an early member of I.O.O.F. Lodge #67 and served as its secretary. The historic lodge hall is handicapped accessible and will be open to the public following this event and light refreshments will be served.

Friends of the Lower Muskingum River will hold a Fall Pollinator Habitat Workday to remove Tree of Heaven, an invasive species, from the pollinator habitat. Those participating should wear long pants and closed toed-shoes and bring a water bottle. Many volunteers are needed, and all ages and abilities are welcome.

The work days will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 22, Sept. 29 and Oct. 27 at the Luke Chute Conservation Area five miles from the junction of Ohio 266 and Ohio 60 from Beverly.

The September regular meeting of the Warren Local Schools Board of Education will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Warren Administration Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent.

The Operations Committee of the board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Sept. 24 at the office.

The Learning, Assessment and Instruction Committee is scheduled to meet at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the office.
