The Marietta City Schools Board of Education will have a special meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the board office. The purpose is for evaluations of the superintendent and treasurer and any other matter that may arise. The regular October board meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at board office.

The next Washington County Family & Children First Council Meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington County Family and Children First office, 202 Davis Ave.

An all-you-can-eat soup luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Beverly Masonic Lodge. There will be four kinds of soup, sandwiches and dessert. Donations will be accepted. Carry-out and deliveries will be available by calling 740-984-2826. The luncheon is sponsored by Beverly Masonic Lodge Mount Moriah #37.

Greenbrier United Methodist Church is having its annual Homecoming service on Oct. 21. Pastor Bill Abrams will bring the message. The potluck meal will be at 12:30 p.m., with the service to follow at 2 p.m. The church is located on County Road 12, four miles east of Graysville. All are welcome.

A free clothing give-away with free lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at Waterford Church of the Nazarene, 111 Marquis Ave., Waterford.

An adoption benefit soup dinner and country store will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Reno Christian Church, 27220 State Route 7. The meal will include soup, salad, rolls and desserts. The cost is a donation.
