The Marietta Friends of the Library used book sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 3 and 5 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 6, which will also be bag day when customers may purchase a bag of books for $2. Members may shop from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 2. The sale will be held at the library annex, 615 Fifth St., Marietta. Memberships will be available for half price at the library service desk and at the sale.

Hades Ladies, the Mid-Ohio Valley’s roller derby team, is holding recruitment nights on Mondays all October long. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle and $5 for skate and gear rental. Only those ages 18 and older can join. Recruitment is from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays in October at Marietta Roller Rink, 922 Front St,, Marietta.

The third annual Trunk or Treat at Warren Middle School and Warren High School will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the middle school/high school campus. The event is free. There will be concessions available for purchase, a DJ playing music and games and activities set up, weather permitting. Those interested in decorating a car and passing out candy should contact Cathy Cunningham at magnetvalley@gmail.com. Set up will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Volunteers and potential sponsors for the event are also asked to contact Cunningham.

A free clothing give-away with free lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Waterford Church of the Nazarene, 111 Marquis Ave., Waterford.

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in the lower level meeting room of the Washington County Public Library, 615 Fifth St., Marietta. The speaker will be Jane Young, who will present “Red Cross Nurses of Washington County in World War I.” Visitors are always welcome at the meetings and free parking is available.
