The third annual Devola Turkey Trot will be held Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 22, in Devola. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the park at 820 River Road, by the Devola Pool. The 5K run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. and wind through the Devola community.

The cost is $5 per person and $10 for a family. Registration can be completed the day of the event or through Paypal at devolarec.com. All proceeds will be used for the recreational facilities and programs in Devola, which are managed through the East Muskingum Civic Association (EMCA).

Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase the day of the race. Additionally, raffle tickets for a Devola Summer Pool Pass will be available for $5 each.

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Public Library, 615 Fifth St., Marietta, Ohio, in the lower level meeting room.

The speaker will be Bill Reynolds from Campus Martius Museum. His topic will be Author David McCullough and his upcoming book about Rev. Manassah Cutler and early Marietta. Visitors are always welcome at the meetings.

The Strecker Cancer Center offers free cooking classes to Strecker patients currently undergoing treatment. The next upcoming class will be at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20 with a theme of Thanksgiving leftovers. The class will be at The Changed Plate at 803 Farson St. on the Belpre Memorial Health System Campus. Barlow Area Christmas in the Village will be hosting its annual Christmas Theme Basket Bingo on Saturday at the Barlow Library. Doors open at 11 a.m. Bingo starts at noon. To register, call Susie at 740-236-3502. All proceeds will benefit the Festival of Lights at Barlow Fair Grounds and in Barlow.

The regular board meeting of the Warren Local Schools Board of Education has been moved to 6 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Warren Administrative Offices, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent.

The Operations Committee meeting of the board is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Warren Administration Office.
