The December regular meeting for the Frontier Local Schools Board of Education is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday in the Frontier High School library.

Beverly Post 389 of The American Legion will hold a Fish, Fries and Slaw dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The cost is $8. Entertainment will be provided by Sam Clark to follow from 7 to 10 p.m.

The children’s Christmas play, “The Christmas Carol Special Report,” will be presented by youngsters of the Twin Rivers Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Sunday services at the church are Sunday school, with classes for all ages, at 9:30 a.m.; and the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. The midweek service, as well as the children’s Awana program and teen program, meets at 7 p.m. each Wednesday. The church is on D.A.V. Road, off Ohio 821, and is located just 300 yards north of Exit 6 of Interstate 77.

Souls Harbor Baptist Church will hold Christmas programs at 7 p.m. today and Sunday, presenting “The Elevator Christmas.” At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the children’s Christmas program, with singing and instrumentals, will be performed. All are welcome. The church is located at 115 Caywood Road, Marietta.

The Southeast Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, is looking to enroll additional seniors living in Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington counties for its Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

Seniors 60 and older making less than 130 percent of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines are encouraged to apply. The program provides monthly food boxes to those who are eligible.

There will be a live nativity from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Tunnel United Methodist Church, Ohio 550 and Coffman Road (behind the Warren Volunteer Fire Department). Come out and drive through to enjoy the live animals. Hear Mary and the angel tell the story of the birth of Jesus. Watch the shepherds tend their flocks. Find out when the Wise Men really came. The event is presented by the youth of the church.
