Fourth suspect in New Matamoras home invasion arrested

A man being sought in connection with a home invasion that occurred Nov. 27 in New Matamoras was captured Wednesday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted on the office’s website.

Joseph Lee Slider, 28, was apprehended by officers of the South Zanesville Police Department with assistance from the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office in Muskingum County, the statement said. Slider was wanted on warrants alleging aggravated robbery and assault.

Slider is accused of being one of four people who broke into the residence of William McFall, beat him and stole five guns and $1,000. McFall was hospitalized with a skull fracture.

The others charged in the home invasion are Gabrielle Chaffin, John Decker and Jonathan Albert. They were all apprehended previously.
