Fairfield Township Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Township Hall to consider a grant proposal of the Friends of Lower Muskingum River.

The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce and the Washington County Mental Health Board will host a mental health seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 28 at the Washington County Career Center. Speaker is Karen Binkley of the Washington County Mental Health Board. The cost is $30 per person; lunch provided. Space is limited; payment must be made in advance. The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; the program begins at noon. The topic is “Trucking and Terrorism” with featured speaker John Richman. The cost of the meeting is $15 for Safety Council members (includes lunch).

Five area bell choirs will join together for the 29th annual Spring Ring at 7 p.m. March 24 at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. Participating are: Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Christ United Methodist Church (Marietta), First Methodist Church (Parkersburg), First Presbyterian Church (Marietta) and the Mid-Ohio Valley Ringers (Vienna). Mass ring will be conducted by Denise Holmes; John Ontko is the organist. The concert is free; everyone welcome.

The Washington County Democratic Party will hold its annual spring dinner on April 6 at the K of C Hall on Franklin Street in Marietta. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Candidates will be in attendance and the country store will be held throughout the evening.
