Two men arrested after kidnapping, beating of Marietta teen
Around 5 p.m. the boy was allegedly taken by Kyle Davis and Jarrett Mull at the Frontier Shopping Center. Davis said that the boy owed him $650.
According to the Marietta Police, they got a call soon after about a social media post showing the teen with a gun pointed at his head. Following that call was a call from the victim’s grandmother, who said she had been contacted about ransom. She then located the car in the parking lot and followed it to Cisler Drive, where she cut the suspects’ vehicle off and the juvenile fled from that car into hers.
“We were getting frantic calls from her in between all this,” said Marietta Police Capt. Aaron Nedeff.
Prior to being found, the boy had been beaten, resulting in a broken nose.
Davis, 23, last known address 104 Riley Drive, Apt. 9, was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and extortion. Mull, 20, of 358 Newells Run Road, Newport, was charged with complicity to commit kidnapping. Charges may still be considered against a female also with them, said Nedeff.
