The Washington County Republican Women’s Club will hold a baby shower for the Women’s Care Center, a Christian crisis-pregnancy center, on Monday at First Baptist Church, Marietta. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by the shower and a brief business meeting. All Republicans are welcome.

A Marietta Earth Day Celebration featuring the Sweetgum Ball and Trash-to-Art contests will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 at Armory Square. There will be contests are for all ages; prizes awarded for each age group.

Memoir Writing Workshop III: People and Places That Matter will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on April 20 at Dover House, 158 Main St., McConnelsville. This informal and interactive workshop continues the series for both previous participants and first-timers. Workshop presenter and retired Fort Frye teacher Lois Spencer has deep Morgan County roots as evidenced in her own memoir, “In the Language of My Country.” A $5 donation to Morgan County Community of the Arts is appreciated. Riverside Artists Gallery, 219 Second St., Marietta, will host Alan Cottrill, a nationally-known bronze sculpturist from Zanesville, from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The art exhibition will feature Cottrill’s bronze statues, photos of their installations and discussion of his 26-step process.

The third annual MOV Gift of Life Cabin Fever/Fire & Ice Party will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. April 13 at American Legion Post 64 in Marietta. Parmesan chicken or baked steak dinner will be provided by Joe Momma’s Kitchen. There will be music, raffles, games, a silent auction and a country store. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and are available at Baker & Baker and Ketel1 in Marietta, and at Jim’s Gun Shop in Beverly. Tickets are also available by contacting members of MOV Gift of Life.
