Oak Grove Recreation Center will have an annual plant and bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 535 BF Goodrich Road. The sale will feature a variety of hanging baskets, annual plants and vegetables.

The required annual meeting of the Washington County Engineer and the Township Trustees pertaining to the maintenance and repair of roads and bridges will be held at 7:30 p.m. May 2 in the church hall of Our Lady of Mercy Church at 5001 Lowell Hill Road (CR 60).

The Marietta City Schools Board of Education will have a special meeting at 10 a.m. May 2 at the Board of Education office, 111 Academy Drive. The purpose of meeting is a discussion of an OFCC building project and placement of a levy on ballot.

Little Muskingum Watershed Association will hold a BBQ chicken dinner Sunday at the Watershed building, 22 mile marker on Ohio 26. Serving begins at 11 a.m.

Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Mother’s Day Dinner on May 12. Serving begins at 11 a.m. at the fire station, located at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple. The menu will include baked steak or chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, noodles and a choice of pie or cake. The cost for adults is $7.50 and the cost for children is $3.50.

The Oliver Tucker Museum in Beverly will hold a historical marker dedication at 1 p.m. Saturday. Refreshments will include cookies and punch. Those who helped with the old log house are encouraged to attend. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the old Fort Frye High School gym.
