The Board of Warren Township Trustees will hold a special meeting to discuss the Bond Resolution for purchase of new equipment May 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the Warren Township Administration Building, 95 Coffman Road, Marietta.

On May 27, American Legion Post #750 Memorial Day services will begin at 7:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Lowell. At 10:15 a.m., the parade will follow the route up Ohio 60 to Cats Creek Road, stopping at German Cemetery and onto Cats Creek Bridge where a service will be held for those at sea. The route will end at Green Lawn Cemetery for the main service. At 1 p.m., a service will also be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Reno.

The Right Path for Washington County will sponsor an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at VFW Post 5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta. Dinner includes fried fish, fries, cole slaw, baked beans and bread. Auction items will be available for bid. Tickets are $10 and are available from any board member, at the door or by calling 740-374-6990. Proceeds benefit The Right Path’s work to promote healthy youth development and to provide events, activities and community service opportunities, offering community engagement and encouraging healthy decision-making.

Crown of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church will have a large indoor-outdoor rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday hosted by Crown of Life’s women’s organization, Crown Jewels. All proceeds support the 2019 Heartland Circuit LWMS (Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society) home and world mission projects. The church is located at 300 Wooster St. in Marietta.

The 129th Newport High School Alumni Banquet will be held June 1 in memory of Hank Morus. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Newport Elementary School. The cost is $20 per dinner. Guests are asked to confirm reservations by May 29 to Ron Thomas, 70 Harris St., Newport, OH.

The Washington County Democratic Women’s Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. May 30 at the VFW on Pike Street in Marietta. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at noon. All women are welcome to attend.
