The next Washington County Family & Children First council meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington County Family and Children First office, 202 Davis Ave.

Ludlow Township will hold its regular June meeting at 7:30 p.m. June 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta, 232 Third St,. will host an African drum workshop conducted by master drummer Lawrence Greene from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Social Hall. A personal budgeting and family financial planning class will be offered for free to veterans and families at 6 p.m. Thursday in the conference room of the Vet Service office, next to ALDI on Pike. To sign up, call Bruce Haas at 740-629-1277. Walk-ins are welcome.

A bat handling and ID workshop will be held at 1 p.m. July 1 at the O’Neill Center. The course will include information on bat biology and common myths. Headley’s Wildlife Control will also discuss the dos and don’ts of bat handling for homeowners. Call the O’Neill Center to show interest at 740-373-3914.

The Marietta Amateur Radio Club will demonstrate ham radio’s capabilities from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Jackson Park on Cisler Drive in Marietta. Through the ARRL’s Amateur Radio Emergency Services program, ham volunteers provide both emergency communications for thousands of state and local emergency response agencies and non-emergency services for free.
