The Marietta City Schools Board of Education will have a special meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Ohio School Boards Association will provide a customized workshop. This will be a working session and no action will be taken.

Beverly Library Lap Time for children 2 and under will be held Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Story Time for children ages 2 through 6 will be held Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Movie Matinee will be held Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Deep Space Explorers program for elementary school children will be held Thursdays at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m. Friday, Ironwood Wolves will bring a wolf for an introduction to wolf folklore. From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, there will be an all-day summer party; make flower rings and plant sunflowers.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Players will present the Arthur Miller classic, “The Crucible,” at Players Theatre, 229 Putnam St. in Marietta. Performance dates are June 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. and June 23 and 30 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adult, $10 seniors & students and $7 for youth under 17. The box office opens at 5 p.m. for Friday and Saturday performances and at 1 p.m. for Sunday matinees. Tickets are also available at Marty’s Print Shop and online at MOVP.org.

Gilman UMC Health Ministry will host a free diabetes community seminar June 24 at 7 p.m. Local chiropractic physician Dr. David Norris DC, MS, DACBN will present “Discover Diabetes: How to reverse it, lose weight without exercise and boost your energy levels.” This seminar is open to the public but seating is limited. Call 740-373-6478 to reserve a seat. Seminar takes place at the Fellowship Hall behind Gilman United Methodist Church at 312 Gilman Ave. in Harmar Village.

A bat handling and ID workshop will be held at 1 p.m. July 1 at the O’Neill Center. The course will include information on bat biology and common myths.
