The Cutler Community Center Third Sunday Dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at 4550 Two Mile Run Road. This month’s dinner is hosted by the Western Washington County Seniors and the meal will include chicken and noodles, two sides, a drink and dessert. Meals are $7 for adults or $4 for children. All proceeds benefit the Cutler Community Center.

The Ohio Valley Opry will host the annual Oldies Night on Saturday at the Twin City Opera House in historic downtown McConnelsville in Morgan County. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door, in advance at OhioValleyOpry.com or by calling 740-525-9218.

Discover Thyroid, a free seminar on understanding how thyroid metabolism affects energy, weight loss, sleep and depression, will be held at 7 p.m. Aug 20 at Back In Line Chiropractic & Wellness LLC, The Epicenter Building, 107 Lancaster St., Marietta. Refreshments will be provided. The seminar will be led by Dr. David Norris DC, MS, DACBN, Chiropractic Physician, Masters in Nutrition, Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist. A rabies shot clinic for dogs and cats will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Barlow Fairgrounds shelter. The cost is $10 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash, cats must be in carriers and all animals must be at least 12 weeks old.

Shelly & Sands is the contractor for the 2019 Citywide Paving Project. Construction of ADA ramps will begin today and be completed Sept. 6, weather permitting. Milling and paving will occur at a later date in September; an updated schedule will be released prior to milling and paving. The following are streets that will have ADA ramps installed as part the 2019 program:

Fourth Street at the intersections of Putnam, Scammel and Wooster streets

Seventh Street at the intersections of Wooster and Washington streets

Intersection of Lancaster Street and Fort Harmar Drive.

Traffic will be maintained and motorists should travel the area with caution, obey traffic control signs and flagmen.
