A special meeting for the Frontier Local school board is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday in the Frontier High School library. The purpose of this meeting is to hire a superintendent and approve other personnel changes.

The regular August meeting of the Fort Frye Board of Education will be held at 6 p.m. today. The location has been changed to Fort Frye High School, 420 Fifth St., Beverly.

The Marietta City school district will have a special board meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the board office, 111 Academy Drive. The meeting is a working session with the Ohio School Board Association and will cover board directives and evaluations of superintendent and treasurer.

The Southeastern Ohio Port Authority will hold its August board meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room at Washington State Community College, 710 Colegate Drive. All meetings are open to the public.

A rabies shot clinic for dogs and cats will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Barlow Fairgrounds shelter. The cost is $10 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash, cats must be in carriers and all animals must be at least 12 weeks old.
