The Gathering, a community event in its seventh year, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at Belpre Civitan Park, featuring free food, inflatables, games, music and door prizes. The event is sponsored by the Belpre area churches.
Kingdom Creations will host a quarter auction/flea market fundraiser for its outreach ministry on Sept. 28 at the Marietta Church of God. Admission is $5. The cost is $20 to set up at the indoor flea market, which will run from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $10 to set up at the outdoor flea market, which will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Limited number of tables are available; canopies can be rented for $10 each. The test to obtain a City of Marietta bow hunter’s permit will be held on Sept. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Buckeye Park. A bow with practice tips is required to take the test.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will host its annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot behind the church at 320 Second St. The huge sale will include table and chair sets, an antique sewing machine with a cabinet, a hammock, household items, Longaberger, holiday decorations, toys, exercise equipment, books, clothing, tools and more. Food will be available from the Hot Dog Lady.
St. Paul’s Evangelical Church will present 13 weeks of grief support seminars beginning Sept. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall (Social Room), 401 Fifth St. Marietta. Materials address topics and issues for those who are grieving the death of a loved one. The content is Christ-centered, biblical and non-denominational. Pre-registration is suggested, but attendees are able to join any time during the 13 weeks. Competent child care provided.
