Revival planned at Nazarene Church
Marietta First Church of the Nazarene, located at 100 Mill Creek Road, will hold a revival through Wednesday with special speaker Billy Huddleston. Services will be at 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Child care will be provided through age 6.
POW/MIA recognition day on Sept. 20
New Matamoras Elementary School and Matamoras VFW will hold its 30th annual POW/MIA Recognition Day on Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the elementary school. The public is invited to attend.
Congregational Church soup benefit
Putnam Congregational Church at 707 Masonic Park Road, Devola, is having a homemade vegetable beef soup sale. All orders must be in by Oct. 18; pick-up is Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The price is $6 per quart. To order, call 740-374-7229.
Conversations on MCS levy at library
The Washington County Public Library, 615 5th St. in Marietta, will host a series of in-depth conversations regarding the MCS Levy starting Sept. 10 through Oct. 31 in the meeting room on the lower floor. The September meetings will take place Sept. 10, 10 a.m.-noon; Sept. 11, 2:30-4:30 p.m.; Sept. 12, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Sept. 17, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Sept. 18, 4-6 p.m.; Sept. 19, 10 a.m.-noon; Sept. 24, 6-8 p.m.; and Sept. 26, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Marietta College 9/11 ceremony on Wed.
Marietta College will conduct a brief 9/11 remembrance for those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. The event is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at the flagpole on The Christy Mall. Brenden Smith, class of 2022, who is majoring in both Music Therapy and Vocal Ensemble, will sing the Star-Spangled Banner and President Bill Ruud will follow with remarks to commemorate the day. There will be coffee and pastries.
