Career Center honors September Students of the Month
The Washington County Career Center honors its September Students of the Month, Holly Becker and Chandler Lang.
Holly Becker is a Warren senior enrolled in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Brent and Becci Becker of Marietta.
At the Career Center, Becker is a member the SkillsUSA youth organization, National Technical Honor Society, and was the Class Vice President her junior year in her program. She has received awards for the All A’s Principal List, All A’s & B’s Honor Roll, and Outstanding Medical College Prep Student. At Warren, Becker is a member of Student Council and has been a Varsity Cheerleader for the past four years. She’s been involved with dance at Graceful Slippers, in Marietta, for the past 16 years and has performed competitive cheerleading through the Ohio Valley All Stars for the past 6 years. Medical College Prep instructor, Karolyn Schafer, commented on special traits and roles that Becker carries such as caring, pleasant personality, willing to do anything, and eager to learn.
Becker works part-time for Weber’s Market in catering. Upon graduation, she plans to attend a 4-year college where she would like to cheer while obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. From there, she plans to advance into the Premed program to become a doctor.
Chandler Lang is a Fort Frye senior enrolled in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and he is the son of Pat and Amy Lang of Lowell.
Lang is a member of the Career Center’s SkillsUSA youth organization, National Technical Honor Society, and he is a Student Ambassador. He has received awards for the All A’s Principal List, All A’s and B’s Honor Roll, and Outstanding Building Technology/Carpentry Student. At Fort Frye High School, Lang is a Varsity football and basketball player and holds the position of shortstop in baseball. He’s played in the football playoffs and received 3rd Team All-State. Mathematics instructor, Evan Schaad, commented on special traits and roles that Lang carries such as a classroom leader, excellent work ethic, committed to succeeding both academically and in his technical program as well as with his sports and other activities.
Following graduation, Lang plans to attend a 4-year college to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
